Aviral WhatsApp Platform acceptable use policy
Draft — pending counsel review. This page is not final yet and may change before it takes effect.

Effective date: 16 October 2026
This policy sets the rules for using Aviral WhatsApp Platform, which Aviral Techlab Private Limited ("Aviral Techlab", "we", "us") provides. It forms part of our Terms of service. "You" means the business that holds the account and everyone it lets use the account: staff, contractors, agents and AI agents.
We run Aviral WhatsApp Platform on top of Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta can restrict or ban any number that breaks its rules, and that harms every other customer who shares our standing with Meta. These rules protect your numbers, your customers and the platform.
1. WhatsApp's own policies apply to you
When you connect a WhatsApp Business Account, you accept Meta's terms directly with Meta. You must follow them whenever you use Aviral WhatsApp Platform. They include:
- the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, including its section on WhatsApp commerce features (offering goods or services for sale);
- Meta's Commerce Policies;
- the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service and the WhatsApp Business Solution Terms;
- Meta's guidance on getting opt-in and its messaging limits and quality rules.
Meta updates these documents from time to time. The current version applies to you, even if this page hasn't caught up yet. If this policy and Meta's differ, follow the stricter one.
2. Message only people who opted in
- Only message a person on WhatsApp if they gave you their number or username and agreed to hear from your business on WhatsApp.
- Say who you are and what kind of messages to expect when you ask. Ask for marketing messages separately from service messages.
- Keep a record of each opt-in: the source, the time and the wording shown. Use the opt-in fields in the product to store it.
- Make it easy to opt out. Honour every opt-out at once, including "STOP" and similar replies, and don't message that person again unless they opt back in.
- A person who messages you first can be answered inside the 24-hour customer service window. That is not permission to send them marketing later.
- Don't treat a phone number as opted-in because it appears on a website, in a directory, in a purchased or shared list, or in your phone's contacts.
3. Send honest, relevant messages
- Use approved message templates to start a conversation outside the 24-hour window, and pick the right category: marketing, utility or authentication. Don't label marketing as utility to save cost or to get around limits.
- Be truthful about who you are, what you sell and what a message is for. No misleading offers, fake urgency, fake order or delivery alerts, or impersonation of another business, bank, government body or person.
- Keep to a reasonable frequency. If many people block you, report you or ignore you, your number quality drops. Stop sending to those people, and pause campaigns when Meta or our checks flag a quality problem.
- Don't try to get round message limits, template review, quality ratings or any other control, for example by cycling numbers or templates.
- If you use bots or AI agents, give people a clear way to reach a human.
4. Content and businesses we don't allow
You may not use Aviral WhatsApp Platform to send, sell, promote or support any of the following. This list follows Meta's policies and Indian law. Meta's current list is the final word.
- Illegal goods or services, or anything that breaks Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, consumer protection law, and TRAI rules where they apply.
- Drugs and drug paraphernalia, and prescription medicines sold without the licence and checks the law needs.
- Tobacco, alcohol and age-restricted goods, unless Meta's policy and Indian law allow it and you comply with both.
- Weapons, ammunition and explosives.
- Adult content, sexual services or sexually explicit material.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries and real-money gaming, except where legal, licensed and permitted by Meta.
- Fake or stolen documents, counterfeit goods, or anything that infringes someone's intellectual property.
- Scams and deception: phishing, fake investment or loan schemes, "get rich quick" and pyramid or multi-level marketing offers, fake jobs, fake lottery wins and advance-fee fraud.
- Unsafe or misleading health claims, and supplements or products that Meta or Indian law restricts.
- Hate speech, threats, harassment, content that promotes violence, or content that sexualises or endangers children.
- Content that is defamatory, or that invades someone's privacy.
- Malware, spyware, or links to sites that spread them.
- Political and government messaging that Meta's policy for government and political use doesn't allow.
5. Conduct that is not allowed
- Spam. Don't send bulk, unsolicited or repetitive messages, and don't use the Service to message bought, rented, scraped or harvested lists.
- Number harvesting. Don't generate or guess phone numbers to message, and don't use the Service to check which numbers have WhatsApp accounts.
- Scraping and automated access. Don't scrape the Service, or collect data from it, by any means other than our documented API. Don't use the API in ways its documentation doesn't allow.
- Breaking protections. Don't bypass rate limits, plan limits, security controls or access controls. Don't try to reach another customer's data or workspace.
- Probing and overload. Don't test the Service's security, run load tests or scan it for weaknesses without our written permission. Report weaknesses you find to support@aviraltechlab.com.
- Reverse engineering. Don't decompile, copy or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law gives you that right regardless.
- Abuse of accounts. Don't share logins, create accounts to avoid a suspension or a ban, or give access to someone the Terms don't allow.
- Resale. Don't resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us.
- Malicious content. Don't upload or send malware, or anything that damages or disrupts the Service, our systems, or other customers.
6. Sensitive data
Don't use WhatsApp chats, forms or fields to collect passwords, one-time passwords, full card numbers, CVV codes, PINs or government ID numbers such as Aadhaar numbers, except through an approved secure flow that Meta allows. If your business handles health, financial or other sensitive data, tell us before you start so we can enable the right controls.
You are the Data Fiduciary for your end-users' data. Give them notice and get any consent the law requires, as the Data processing agreement says. Don't message children without the parental consent the law needs, and don't use the Service to track or target children with advertising.
7. AI features and calling
- AI features are for specific business tasks: support, sales, bookings, order updates and similar. Don't offer a general-purpose AI chatbot or assistant to the public through WhatsApp. Meta's terms ban it.
- You are responsible for what your AI agents send. Review important replies, and don't use AI output alone for decisions with legal or similarly serious effects on people.
- Calling, where enabled: don't make unsolicited or robocalls. Tell callers when you record or transcribe a call, and get any consent the law requires.
8. How we enforce this policy
We run guardrails to help you stay within these rules: opt-in checks, STOP handling, frequency caps, template checks, and automatic pausing of campaigns when number quality falls. We also review account activity and signals, and we may review message content where we need to investigate abuse, as our Privacy policy describes.
If we find or reasonably suspect a breach, we may, depending on how serious it is:
- warn you and ask you to fix it;
- limit features, pause campaigns or templates, or lower sending limits;
- suspend a phone number, a user or the whole account;
- end the contract, as the Terms of service allow.
We act without notice where we must, for example when Meta or the law requires it, or there is a security risk or a risk to other customers. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem, and we restore access when it is fixed. Fees stay payable during a suspension, and a termination for breach doesn't entitle you to a refund.
We may report unlawful activity to the authorities and to Meta, and we may share information with them where the law requires or allows it.
If you think we got it wrong, write to support@aviraltechlab.com within 14 days with your account details and what you want us to look at. We review it and reply in writing.
9. Reporting abuse
- If a business using Aviral WhatsApp Platform messaged you and you didn't want it: reply STOP, or block and report the number in WhatsApp. You can also write to support@aviraltechlab.com with the number, the business name if you know it, and a screenshot. We investigate and act under section 8.
- To report a security weakness or other misuse of the Service: write to support@aviraltechlab.com.
- For privacy requests or grievances: use the contacts in our Privacy policy.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to follow Meta's rules, changes in the law, or new features. For material changes we give account administrators at least 30 days' notice by email or in the product. Changes that Meta or the law requires can take effect sooner.
