Data deletion instructions

Draft — pending counsel review. This page is not final yet and may change before it takes effect.

Effective date: 16 October 2026

This page explains how to ask Aviral Techlab Private Limited ("Aviral Techlab"), the company behind Aviral WhatsApp Platform, to delete your data. It also explains what we delete, how long it takes, and what Meta keeps separately.

Who are you?

I'm a business using Aviral WhatsApp Platform. Go to "For businesses" below.
I got a WhatsApp message from a business that uses Aviral WhatsApp Platform. Go to "For people messaged by a business".
I logged in to Aviral WhatsApp Platform with Facebook. Go to "If you used Facebook Login".

For businesses

You can delete your data yourself or ask us.

Option 1: disconnect a WhatsApp number or account

  1. Log in to Aviral WhatsApp Platform.
  2. Go to Settings → WhatsApp channels.
  3. Choose the number, then click Disconnect.

We revoke our access to that WhatsApp Business Account at once. We delete its access token within 24 hours.

Option 2: delete specific data

  • Delete contacts, conversations or media from the inbox or the Contacts page.
  • Set an automatic retention period in Settings → Data retention.

Option 3: close your account and delete everything

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Close account, or email privacy@aviraltechlab.com from an account admin's email address.
  2. Tell us your company name and account ID.
  3. We confirm the request by email within 2 business days.

You can export your data for 30 days after you close the account. After that, we delete it.

What we delete:

  • Messages, media, contacts, tags, notes and custom fields
  • Templates stored on our side, campaigns and automation flows
  • Call logs, recordings and transcripts
  • AI knowledge bases and AI conversation logs
  • WhatsApp access tokens and connection details
  • User profiles for your team

Timelines:

ItemDeleted within
WhatsApp access tokens24 hours of disconnection
Live data in our systems30 days of the request (after any export window you choose)
Encrypted backupsOverwritten within a further 35 days

What we keep, and why:

  • Invoices and billing records, for the period Indian tax and company law requires (currently up to 8 years).
  • Security and access logs for at least 1 year, as the DPDP Rules require.
  • A record that we deleted your data, so we can prove it.
  • Aggregated statistics that don't identify you or anyone else.

For people messaged by a business

The business that messaged you controls your data. It decides what to keep. We process it for them.

  1. Ask the business first. Reply to its WhatsApp chat or use the contact details in its privacy notice.
  2. To stop marketing messages, reply STOP. You can also block the business in WhatsApp.
  3. If you can't reach the business, email privacy@aviraltechlab.com. Include:
    • your WhatsApp number or username;
    • the business name;
    • what you want deleted.

We'll pass your request to the business within 5 business days and help it respond. Where the business has closed its account with us, we delete your data ourselves.

If you used Facebook Login

If you logged in to Aviral WhatsApp Platform or connected WhatsApp through Facebook, you can remove our app from Facebook:

  1. On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings.
  2. Open Apps and websites (under "Your activity" or "Security").
  3. Find Aviral WhatsApp Platform and click Remove.
  4. Facebook tells us. We delete the data we got through Facebook Login and give you a confirmation code. You can check the status at https://whatsapp.aviraltechlab.com/legal/data-deletion/status?code=<your code>.

What Meta keeps separately

WhatsApp and Meta hold their own copies of some data. Examples: your WhatsApp Business Account, phone numbers, message templates, billing records with Meta, and messages while Meta delivers them. We can't delete data Meta holds.
